MT. LEMMON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Bug Fire on Mount Lemmon is 100 percent contained as of 11:53 a.m., May 2, according to the Coronado National Forest Twitter.

The fire was discovered around noon Monday and is burning just above the Gordon Hirabayashi Recreation Area on the east side of the Catalina Highway.

There are three engines and the Smokey Bear Hotshot Crew on scene. Air tankers, additional hand crews and a medium helicopter have been ordered to help in suppression efforts. Tuesday firefighters will work to construct and strengthen fire line.

As of 6 p.m. Monday, there were no road closures or structures in danger.
