TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Tucson Police Department is reporting that the motorcyclist, identified as 26-year-old Jeremy Bowley, involved in a crash on Sunday, April 29 has died.

According to TPD officers from Operations Division Midtown and crews from the Tucson Fire Department responded to the scene of a crash around 9:21 p.m. Sunday, near North Campbell Avenue and East Roger Road, they found Bowley on the ground.

Bowley was taken to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. TPD reported that on Monday morning, Bowley died from those injuries. The adult male driver of a vehicle also involved in the crash, was not injured.

Detectives from the TPD Traffic Investigations Unit took over the investigation and learned that Bowley was riding his motorcycle westbound on Roger Road and made a left turn to head southbound on Campbell Avenue, when the driver of a 2004 Ford Mustang headed northbound on Campbell Avenue, failed to stop for a red light at East Roger Road.  The driver hit Bowley, who was wearing a helmet.

Both speed and failing to yield appear to be factors in this crash, according to Tucson police. The investigation is ongoing to determine if impairment was a factor as well.

So far no citations or arrests have been made at this time. Additional details will be released as they become available.
