TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Arizona teacher walkout is headed into its fourth day on Tuesday, May 1. This means more than 1 million students across the state are being affected as teachers stay out of the classroom demanding higher pay and more resources.

Now, Tucson Unified School District wants to hear what parents and families have to say about the walkout.

TUSD is the largest school district in southern Arizona with 47,274 students. Those students have been at home and out of the classroom during the walkout, causing increasing frustration for families.

TUSD Board members will talk about issues relating to the walkout on Tuesday, including school closings and any potential contingency plans if the walkout continues. Possible contingency plans could include extending the school year if the teacher walkout continues, along with any legal issues that may be linked to those plans.

The meeting starts at 5:15 p.m. at the Duffy Community Center at 5145 E. Fifth Street, near North Rosemont Boulevard.  If you're unable to attend, you can watch a live stream of the meeting HERE
