MARANA, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A crash on Interstate 10 west of Tucson briefly closed the eastbound lanes at Avra Valley Road on Wednesday morning, May 2.

According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, smoke from a fire at the scene was obscuring visibility for westbound traffic. One eastbound lane reopened about a half hour after the crash.

The crash happened at about 8 a.m. It involved commercial vehicles and a passenger car, which caught fire.

One person was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

A tweet from the Town of Marana said Department of Public Safety troopers and Northwest Fire crews are on the scene.

No further information was immediately available.

Even on the cloudiest of days, the art of the neon sign in Tucson stands out. You can't miss them around town. They're on Congress, 4th Avenue, Sixth, and even on the south side near Broadway That's where you'll find a man with an electrifying passion for his own sign collection. Jude Cook has worked with signs for decades, and has restored several well-known icons around town. He's collected them for just as long.
