MARANA, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A crash on Interstate 10 west of Tucson briefly closed the eastbound lanes at Avra Valley Road on Wednesday morning, May 2.

According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, smoke from a fire at the scene was obscuring visibility for westbound traffic. One eastbound lane reopened about a half hour after the crash.

The crash happened at about 8 a.m. It involved commercial vehicles and a passenger car, which caught fire.

One person was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

A tweet from the Town of Marana said Department of Public Safety troopers and Northwest Fire crews are on the scene.

No further information was immediately available.
