TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Texas scored a pair of goals late in the first period and never looked back on their way to a 4-1 win over Tucson in Game 2 of the AHL's Pacific Division Finals.

The loss ended Tucson's three-game post-season home winning streak and the series is now tied 1-1 heading to Austin for Games 3, 4 and 5.

Sheldon Dries and Curtis McKenzie scored to stake the Stars to the early advantage.

The second period could have been a complete disaster for Tucson. The Roadrunners were forced to kill off five penalties including a pair that rendered them at a three-on-five disadvantage.

Goaltender Adin Hill only allowed two goals on 30 shots against.

Forward Lane Pederson recorded the only goal of the night for Tucson, coming in the third period.

The Stars Brian Flynn scored a pair of empty net tallies in the final 1:19 of the contest.

Texas netminder Mike McKenna was the first star of the evening, making 32 stops on 33 shots.

Game 3 is Monday night in the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park, Texas north of Austin.
