1,800 new jobs coming to Tucson

C3, an international call center company, has announced its opening its third center in Tucson and will be adding 1,800 new jobs.

The new center has opened in the Foothills Mall. The company renovated the Saks Off 5th store on the South end of the mall.

The site will house 1,000 call center agents. The company will have nearly 3,000 Tucson workers.

"With 15 facilities around the world, Asia, Central America, more people will be here in Tucson than any other site in the world" said Casey Kostecka, the Chief Sales Officer for the company who was in Tucson for the ribbon cutting.

"We will pay about average for this market," he said. "Above minimum wage by far."

He said ads for the workers will soon appear in print, on line and on the air.

Customer Contact Channels chose the mall because it had wide open spaces which needed little renovation to accommodate a large call center operation.

"In fact, most of our centers are in malls," Kostecka said.

"We love this community and we will continue to provide opportunities to local looking to advance their careers with a great company," said Bruce Maxwell, VP Operations for C3.

Pima County said it supports all economic development, especially job growth, and while it does not seek out call center operations, it welcomes any company which brings 1,800 new jobs to the county.
