Arizona Softball staying home for regionals

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - #10th ranked Arizona Softball will close out the current incarnation of Hillenbrand Stadium by hosting an NCAA Regional.

The Wildcats were awarded the 14th national seed for the NCAA Tournament and will welcome Mississippi State, North Dakota State and St. Francis (PA) to Tucson for regional play beginning on Friday.

Mississippi State will face North Dakota State in Friday's first game at 6 p.m. Tucson time and that game will be followed by UA and St. Francis at 8:30.

The Wildcats (40-14, 13-11) finished fifth in the Pac-12 Conference this season and are aligned for a potential Super Regional matchup with conference rival UCLA.

Hillenbrand Stadium is scheduled to undergo renovations prior to the start of the 2019 season.
