PALO ALTO, CA - Arizona Track and Field program concluded the Pac-12 Championships with the men taking fourth place with a score of 97 points, and the ladies finishing in seventh with 44 points.
The men's squad post Arizona's highest finish since 2014, when the Cats took third.
Leading the Cats throughout the two-day contest was freshman Jordan Geist who was named the Pac-12 Championships Male Athlete of the Meet.
Geist notched 22 points and a pair of conference titles.
Geist won the discus throw with a mark of 57.56m (188-10) to set a new PR, score 10 points, and become the first freshman to claim both the discus & shot put titles.
The freshman scored a pair of points in the hammer throw with a mark of 61.60m (202-1), good for a new PR.
Umajesty Williams tallied 12 points on day two of the competition, as well as contributing with a 10-point performance in the 4x400-meter relay.
Williams took second in the 400-meter dash, clocking a time of 46.20.
The freshman from Phoenix was also a member of Arizona's Pac-12 Championship 4x400-meter relay team along with Zakee Washington, Daniel Egbo and Maksims Sincukovs.
The foursome took first place with a time of 3:07.46 to win the program's first ever Pac-12 title in the event.
Collins Kibet took second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:50.42.
On the women's side Claire Green took second in the ladies 5K with a mark of 16:29.53.
Up next, the Cats will compete in the NCAA West Regional on Thursday, May 24th.
