State bill increases Cochise County court filing fees

COCHISE COUNTY, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Filing fees for the Cochise County Superior Court and Justice Courts will increase following passage of a new state law.

House Bill 2564 amends sections of the Arizona Revised Statutes relating to base court fees and was introduced by legislators to raise additional monies for the Elected Officials’ Retirement Fund.

The new law, signed by Governor Doug Ducey on May 16, will result in a six percent rise in costs charged by Cochise County.

“The signing of this bill increases the base filing fee statewide and these monies will be deposited into the Elected Officials’ Retirement Fund,” said Mary Ellen Dunlap, Clerk of the Superior Court.
