TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

In honor of PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend, Pima Animal Care Center is hosting a three-day adoption event at two PetSmart stores May 18–20 and is waiving adoption fees.

PACC has partnered with PetSmart Charities for several years now to host this adoption event three times a year with the purpose of highlighting adoptable pets outside its shelter doors.

“We’re incredibly grateful to PetSmart Charities for the support they’ve given us to save more lives in Pima County,” said PACC Director Kristen Auerbach, in a recent news release. “Our partner PetSmart stores have been a great place to reach potential adopters and showcase our pets.”

Starting May 18, there will be adoptable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens at the PetSmart stores located at Wetmore and Oracle and El Con Mall.

Adoptions will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and all adoption fees will be waived. As always, all PACC pets will come spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and with a free vet visit voucher, too. A standard $18 licensing fee will apply to all adult dogs.

The National Adoption Weekend special will extend to PACC’s shelter, 4000 N. Silverbell Rd., all weekend long, too. The shelter opens from noon to 7 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
