One person critically injured in collision at the intersection of River and La Canada

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

UPDATE: (CORRECTION) The Pima County Sheriff’s Department initially told Tucson News Now that the victim in this collision was deceased. It has since updated the information and the victim is in critical condition at the hospital. 

The Pima County Sheriff's Department is investigating a multi-vehicle collision on the north west side of Tucson on Sunday. 

PCSD said one person was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a crash at the intersection of River and La Canada. 

PCSD said a vehicle ran a red light and struck a van in the intersection. The passenger of the van was critically injured.

The intersection will be closed while police investigate. There is no estimated time for the roads to reopen in the area.
