TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The city of Tucson is preparing for monsoon, which officially starts on June 15. Drivers can expect to see workers in the areas near Tucson Boulevard and Grant Road as they rebuild storm drains and add a new storm grate in an effort to get ready for storm runoff.

Crews are working from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday until construction on the project is done. City officials say they anticipate crews will be done in mid-July.

The project could affect you on your drive, should you come through midtown. Tucson Boulevard will have one lane of traffic open during the construction. Left turns from northbound Tucson Boulevard to westbound Grant and right turns from eastbound Grant to southbound Tucson will not be allowed.
