Tucson homeless look to cool down as triple digit temperatures hit the desert

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

With a full week of triple digit temperatures, Tucson’s less fortunate will be looking for places to cool down and get some water.

The problem is the list of cooling stations is a little bit shorter this year.

The Z-mansion, which used to host a cooling station during the week, will only be available on Sunday now. Also, one of the churches that opened its doors as a cooling station will not be open this year.

Places like the Salvation Army and Interfaith Community Services say, they have seen an increase in people coming to their cooling areas. Both places have been getting so many people that they are in need of donations. These groups especially need water, because they have been handing out so much.

Here’s the list of cooling stations in Tucson: https://www.mayorrothschild.com/summer-cooling-center-locations/
