BULLITT COUNTY, KY (WAVE) - The grandmother of the 2-year-old child who disappeared in a case that gripped WAVE Country for more than 30 hours has been charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.

Bullitt County sheriff Donnie Tinnell confirmed Beth Campbell was cited on Wednesday. According to a citation, Campbell admitted to using meth while she was watching the child.

Tinnell said the Bullitt County Sheriff's Office will be obtaining search warrants for multiple electronic devices that belong to several family members of Charlee Campbell.

"We're (seeking) a search warrant as we speak," Tinnell said.

The toddler disappeared Thursday morning and then was discovered Friday evening. The happy ending was tempered by accusations of family negligence and lingering questions about a prior custody dispute over the girl. The dispute led family members to a Bullitt County courtroom Wednesday, as they are trying to regain custody of the child from Child Protective Services.

Investigators are still trying to figure out how Charlee disappeared in the first place, and whether she was in the woods for the entire time she was missing.

Beth Campbell is scheduled to appear in court on the endangerment charge on June 25.
