Three D-backs players compete in cow milking contest

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Arizona Diamondbacks baseball players Nick Ahmed, Andrew Chafin and Zack Godley participated in a cow milking competition on June 12 as part of the Grand Slam Give Back Program. The competition took at Chase Field prior to team batting practice and Chafin won with a total of six ounces milked.

The D-backs and Shamrock Farms have teamed up again to launch the program that is aiming to donate 96,000 servings of fresh milk to St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance. For every ounce D-back players milked during the event, Shamrock Farms will donate an additional 300 servings of milk.

The cow milking competition was the kick-off contest to begin this year’s program and several more activities are planned for the 2018 season.
