FLAGSTAFF, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

A train plowed into a car and dragged it several feet as it was being towed across the tracks in Flagstaff, and it was all caught on video.

Nobody was in the car at the time. It was hitched to an RV that had just cleared the tracks near Ponderosa Parkway and Route 66 (just north of Interstate 40) around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Gavin McDermaid was stopped in his vehicle behind the crossing arm and saw everything. He is the one who recorded the stunning video.

The RV that was towing the car appeared to have been stopped at a traffic light just across the tracks.

It's not clear how fast the BNSF train was going when it hit the car, ripping it from its hitch. The car twisted so that it was parallel to the engine and was dragged for a bit before it came loose.

No injuries were reported.
