Excessive heat warning in effect Wednesday

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, for a portion of southern Arizona, including the Tucson metro area.

Afternoon highs will top out between 105 and 110 degrees.  Excessive heat can lead to a higher chance of heat-related illness.

If spending time outdoors, be sure to drink extra water, take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing if possible.

Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke should be treated as an emergency.
