Baseball nights return to Kino Sports Complex

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Spend your summer nights at Kino Sports Complex watching good old-fashioned baseball. Through July 4, the Sun Belt College League plays at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium, 2500 E. Ajo Way.

The Sun Belt College League features eight teams, comprised of recently graduated high school players and already enrolled college players from Southern Arizona and other parts of the country. 

Participating teams include the Kings, Knights, Boom, Cochise Stars, Tucson Prospects, Tucson Champs, Team Tucson and Southern Arizona Prospects. Through July 4, the league will take on collegiate squads from Boulder, Colo. and Mexico.

General admission game tickets cost $5 for adults and free for kids 12 and under. Cash only. Gates open one hour before game time. Tickets include free parking.

Concessions, including beer, available for purchase at every game. In addition, the Stadium offers $1 hot dogs every Tuesday and half-off soda and popcorn on Thursday’s. Got kids? Bring them to see Woody the Woodpecker and Daffy Duck every Thursday through Saturday night.

As you head to the games, stop by the Kino Box Office to purchase tickets for Kino’s Third Annual Fourth of July Diamonds in the Sky Celebration. The Independence Day celebration includes an All-Star game featuring players of the Sun Belt League, live music by Rhythm Edition, a post-game fireworks display, and fun for the whole family. General admission tickets go on sale June 18. Buy them for $4 each. Kids 5 and under get in free. Advance ticket purchases come with free parking.
