TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Looking for that new furry buddy? The Pima Animal Care Center has just the event for you - it's the "Clear the Shelters" campaign.
"PACC is nearing capacity with more than 700 pets in the shelter," said Shelter Director Kristen Auerbach, in a recent release. "This is the time of year when you'll find the best selection of pets of all breeds, ages and sizes."
The event lasts until Saturday, Aug. 18. Those who adopt a pet will have their adoption fee waived during this special event. There is still a standard licensing fee of $19 for all adult dogs.
PACC is partnering with Telemundo and will air an hour-long special on Aug. 18 to highlight the importance of adopting a pet. The Clear the Shelters campaign has helped more than 150,000 pets find homes since it began in 2015.
All adopted pets will come spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and one free vet visit.
