PINAL COUNTY, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Pinal County Sheriff's Office arrested 31-year-old Miles Valencia of Chandler after he drove to Pinal County, near Florence Thursday morning to engage in inappropriate sexual acts with, who he believed to be, a 14-year-old female.

Valencia began talking to an undercover detective on a social media app at 6:30 a.m. A PCSO investigator, posing as the minor, made it clear to Valencia that he was speaking with a 14-year-old girl. According to PCSO, the third message Valencia sent to detectives suggested he was willing to perform inappropriate sexual acts on the minor; within 10 minutes, Valencia sent inappropriate pictures to the undercover detectives. Valencia then drove down to the meeting location to see the minor. When he arrived, he was immediately arrested by detectives.

"This case is a terrifying reminder at just how quickly predators move to target your children. Valencia did not waste any time, making his intentions clear from the beginning of the conversation," said Sheriff Mark Lamb in a recent news release. "Please monitor all social media accounts and apps. Predators are even lurking on gaming programs. So talk to your children, know who they are talking to and know who is commenting and liking their posts and pictures."

The investigation is still ongoing. Investigators believe the suspect had reached out to other children online. He is facing several charges to include Luring and Aggravated Luring of a Minor and Attempted Sexual Conduct with a Minor.
